USA, 2008

Greg Kinnaer, Ricky Gervais, Téa Leoni
Directed by David Koepp

After a near-death experience during an operation, grumpy dentist Bertram Pincus suddenly finds himself a middleman between the living and the dead. He is besieged by anxious ghosts whom only he can see and hear. Among the ghosts is a man who engages Bertram to prevent his widow Gwen from marrying someone he believes is after her money. Gwen happens to be an eccentric Egyptologist who is working on restoring the priceless mummy of king Pepy that is to be the centerpiece of a major exhibition. When Gwen solicits Bertram to conduct a professional examination of the mummy’s mouth, a romantic connection develops that soon turns into a classic screwball relationship.
